In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, the CWDC is proactively working to extend flexibility and support to Colorado communities. The following decisions have been made in an effort to manage risks while continuing efforts to sustain Colorado’s critical talent development activities.

The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of individuals to the State Youth Council (SYC).

The CWDC is excited to welcome Paula Gumina to the team as the new Learning and Development Consultant. Paula will be focusing on the development and facilitation of technical assistance modules and resources.

On Monday, March 16, the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) hosted a virtual kickoff of the 2020 WBL Learning Lab as part of the CWDC’s 2020 technical assistance modules.

On March 10, CWDC staff traveled to Steamboat Springs for a Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR) Symposium hosted by Northwest BOCES.

The Colorado Workforce Development Council added career pathways in the retail industry to the My Colorado Journey platform in February. The retail pathways include opportunities in online and in-person stores as well as hospitality and food and beverage establishments.

Last week the CWDC announced the Talent Accelerator Grant to invest in the development of local upskilling pilots. Grants from $10,000-$60,000 are available to support innovative pilots that train and advance incumbent frontline workers in the retail, hospitality, and food and beverage industries.

The CWDC convened the first Quarterly Conversation of 2020 with a webinar for rural communities on Feb. 12. The conversation focused on workforce development, adult education, libraries, and community-based organizations. 

The CWDC is a proud supporter of TEACH Colorado, a new statewide resource for people interested in careers in education. TEACH Colorado launched in early February as a partnership among Colorado’s school districts, educator preparation programs, state agencies, and business and nonprofit groups.
