Nov. 4, 2020 - Earlier this week, Governor Jared Polis declared November as Apprenticeship Month in Colorado. As the state recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, apprenticeships can play an important role in providing Coloradans with a foothold in the economy. These programs enable individuals to earn money while getting the training needed to land a quality job, and power businesses with the people they need to thrive and innovate.

Throughout Apprenticeship Month the CWDC, CDLE, and other state partners will be providing apprenticeship information and resources for both employers and workers. During each week of November, CDLE will be focusing on a different aspect of apprenticeships: Equity in apprenticeships, youth and apprenticeships, increasing access to apprenticeships for individuals with disabilities, and increasing access to apprenticeships for justice-involved individuals. Follow the CWDC on Twitter and LinkedIn and CDLE on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook for information on events, initiatives, and success stories during the month.
In celebration of Colorado Apprenticeship Month, the Business Experiential Learning (BEL) Commission is also hosting the 2020 Colorado Apprenticeship Awards. The event will take place virtually on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m and will honor apprentices, mentors, employers, programs, and partnerships doing great work in Colorado. Register for the event.
