About Sector Partnerships

Sector partnerships are partnerships of business leaders, from the same industry and in a shared labor market region, who work with education, workforce development, economic development, and community organizations to address the workforce and other competitiveness needs of their industry. Sector Partnership Acknowledgement Form

The CWDC has developed the Sector Partnership Acknowledgement Form as a more transparent and easy to use process to clarify which partnerships are recognized on CWDC’s website. Active sector partnerships in Colorado are listed on this page of the CWDC website (see the directory below), determined by the parameters outlined in the Acknowledgement Form. Active sector partnerships are eligible for grant funding and technical assistance to support their priorities. Complete the brief diagnostic tool to better understand the current state of your partnership and submit to be recognized on the website.

Sector Partnership Evaluation (2021-2022)

In fall of 2021, the CWDC Sector Steering Committee requested an external evaluation of Colorado’s sector strategy and sector partnerships to ensure effectiveness as Colorado works proactively towards economic recovery. The evaluation was completed in fall of 2022.

Economic Development Regions

Colorado has been launching and growing sector partnerships since 2005 through a framework that fosters industry-driven alignment across economic development, workforce development, and education.

The state has invested in regional, public-private partnerships targeting key industries that are vital to our regional economies. There are currently active sector partnerships in 5 regions and in diverse industries such as retail, healthcare, tech, and more.
