Colorado educators are actively working to implement "The Big 3" initiative, aiming for 100-percent of high school graduates by 2029 to have a quality work-based learning experience, college credits, or an industry-recognized certification. With updated funding and quality standards, the Post-secondary Workforce Readiness team at the Colorado Department of Education and CWDC Education Consultant Sami Mooney are training educators statewide.
The 2025 PWR Regional Training kicked off in the Pikes Peak Region on September 10 with nearly 200 attendees. "With The Big 3, the possibilities are endless for students. We open the doors," said one attendee.
Mooney will soon be launching a blog series to cover each regional training in detail. Here are the 2025 PWR Regional Training Dates:
- Pikes Peak Region: Colorado Springs - September 10, 2025
- Northwest & West Central Region: Steamboat Springs - October 21, 2025
- Eastern Plains Region: Limon - October 28, 2025
- Denver Metro Region: November 12, 2025
- Southwest & South Central Region: Alamosa - November 18, 2025
- Northeast Region: Sterling - December 9, 2025
