March 24, 2020 - The CWDC is excited to welcome Paula Gumina to the team as the new Learning and Development Consultant. In her role, Paula will be working as a consultant focusing on the development and facilitation of technical assistance modules and resources to serve the TalentFOUND network. Paula will focus on identifying opportunities for innovation within our work and scaling successful practices to support continuous talent improvement for Colorado communities.
We wanted to share some more information about Paula in her own words:
Hello, my name is Paula Gumina and I am thrilled to be part of the CWDC team and TalentFOUND network. I was raised in New Hampshire by a family that values giving back to the community. My father is a Vietnam veteran and my mother served the state community colleges for thirty years before retiring to volunteer in our local community.
I moved to Colorado almost 20 years ago after graduating from American University in Washington, D.C., and started my career at the Colorado Department of Education with Adult Education and Family Literacy. I have managed a number of statewide, multi-agency programs and projects to support the building of strong communities across Colorado, including: projects through the Governor's Commission on Community Service; Reach Higher events bringing together partners to support exploration of next steps after high school; and resources and training for supporting college students experiencing homelessness. I am lucky to also have private sector experience where I had the opportunity to manage teams, make business decisions, and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
In my spare time I cheer on my two kids, ages 10 and 7, at their soccer games, travel to visit family and friends, take my dog on long walks, and teach barre fitness classes.
Welcome to the team, Paula!
