Feb. 4, 2021 - In an effort to accelerate progress in implementing the Talent Equity Agenda, the CWDC and partners are hosting Talent Equity Stakeholder Forums in February and March 2021. Each stakeholder forum will engage partners of the TalentFOUND network in championing the Talent Equity Agenda and taking action on strategies and indicators that can make measurable impacts in addressing equity gaps.

2020 Colorado Talent Equity Agenda

The time to move to action is now. The Prosperity Now Scorecard ranks Colorado 12th nationally on overall prosperity of the state’s residents, yet at the same time ranks Colorado 37th when it comes to racial disparities between white residents and residents of color. This gap has significant implications and spotlights a critical need to strengthen how we educate, train, hire, and promote our current workforce.

Leaders from education, workforce and economic development, community-based organizations, and business are invited to attend and engage in a stakeholder forum to raise their awareness of the Talent Equity Agenda, share strategies currently being practiced, and commit to coordinated efforts in addressing talent equity gaps and measuring progress toward a more inclusive economy.

To register for a Talent Equity Stakeholder Forum, please select the register link next to the stakeholder group that you identify with below. All members of the TalentFOUND network are welcome to attend.

  • Education - Tues., Feb. 23, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. - Register
  • Workforce/Economic Development - Thurs., March 11, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Register
  • Community-based Organizations - Thurs., March 25, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Register
  • Business/Industry Partners - Tues., March 30, 9:30 a.m. - Register

Action planning and coaching will be available through the CWDC following each forum for stakeholders who are ready and able to commit to action.

About the Talent Equity Agenda

In September 2020, the CWDC worked with partners to produce the Talent Equity Agenda. The Equity Agenda identifies persistent racial equity disparities in Colorado and makes the case for targeting resources, raising awareness, and accelerating shared strategies to close racial economic disparities in the state and measure the results. The Talent Equity Agenda focuses on racial equity disparities and identifies strategies to address the disparities and indicators to measure progress in the following areas:

  • Career Navigation and Advancement
  • Closing the Digital Divide
  • Postsecondary Credential Attainment
  • Unemployment
  • Equitable Hiring, Compensation, and Promotion
