The Colorado Department of Education's 2025-2028 Strategic Plan set a goal for 100 percent of high school graduates in the Class of 2029 to have a quality work-based learning experience, college credits, and/or an industry-recognized credential. This is also known as “the Big Three.” The Office of Post-secondary Workforce Readiness at the Colorado Department of Education is helping advance this goal by hosting a series of workshops for districts and educators.

The 2025 Post-secondary Workforce Readiness Regional Training kicked off in the Pikes Peak Region on Sept. 10, 2025, with nearly 200 attendees. "With The Big 3, the possibilities are endless for students. We open the doors," said one attendee.

To enhance alignemnt and collaboration, the CWDC and the CDE Office of Post-secondary Workforce Readiness have a shared staff member, Education Consultant Sami Mooney. Be on the lookout for more blog posts from Sami with updates from the different Regional Training sessions.
