Feb. 13, 2020 - The CWDC convened the first Quarterly Conversation of 2020 with a webinar for rural communities on Feb. 12. The conversation focused on workforce development, adult education, libraries, and community-based organizations.
In addition to an overview of TalentFOUND, the Colorado talent development network, the webinar featured two panels with representatives from each of the systems.
The first panel focused on what we are required to do. Panelists included Sherman Swafford, CDLE; Laura Anderson, Adult Ed; Sharon Morris, State Libraries; and Lee Wheeler-Berliner, CWDC. The panelists discussed what their system is required to do in relation to workforce, who is requiring it, why it is required, and what makes their system suited for that role.
The second panel shifted the conversation to building and strengthening partnerships. Panelists included Diana Esquibel, CRWC; Evie Harris, ReHire Colorado; Tammie Mack, TSJC Adult Education; and Rebecca McGhee, Pueblo City-County Library District. Each panelist shared an example of a positive partnership in relation to workforce and discussed how it came about and the lessons learned from the partnership.
Participants wanting to convene a local conversation to further explore the topics discussed received a conversation guide with prompts to structure an in-person conversation among local partners.
The urban conversation on this topic will take place Feb. 27.
Thank you to everyone who presented and attended the conversation. View the webinar recording, access the slides, or read the notes.
