New Appointments to Colorado Workforce Development Council

Dec. 12, 2022 - Four new appointments and two reappointments have been made to the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC), a Governor-appointed, public-private partnership with the purpose to advise, oversee, and integrate the work of the Colorado talent development network to meet the needs of employers and workers.

“As a Council member, I have seen the critical value of having strong representation from across the state -- it is an essential component to success for the Council,” said Lisanne McNew, chair of the CWDC. “I am thrilled to work with these phenomenal new and reappointed members and appreciate their willingness to share their expertise to better inform our collective work to serve Colorado businesses and individuals.”

Newly appointed members, as of Nov. 18, 2022, include:

  • Nina Anderson of Grand Junction, Colorado, to serve as a representative of business, appointed
  • Joe Ayala of La Junta, Colorado, to serve as a representative of business, appointed
  • Sam Bailey of Denver, Colorado, to serve as a representative of business, appointed
  • Marta Loachamin of Longmont, Colorado, to serve as a representative of local government, appointed

Reappointed members included:

  • Richard Elsner of Pine, Colorado, to serve as a representative of local government, reappointed
  • Danielle Kirkpatrick of Durango, Colorado, to serve as a representative of business, reappointed

“We are excited by the diverse backgrounds our new and reappointed members bring. Their contributions will enhance the CWDC’s perspective across counties and industries, furthering connections to and representation of local communities statewide,” said Lee Wheeler-Berliner, managing director of the CWDC. “We look forward to working with these members to further realize a Colorado economy for all.”
