Lessons Learned in Workforce Innovation

Jan. 24, 2022 - Colorado was one of 10 states in the inaugural cohort of the National Governors Association Workforce Innovation Network (NGA WIN), which launched last year as a nonpartisan learning and action collaborative for state leaders who have demonstrated strong commitments to building a resilient workforce. Through this initiative, the CWDC and partners focused on expanding Colorado’s Plan for Workforce and Economic Recovery in 2021 (CO POWER ‘21), operationalizing equity in workforce response services, and adopting the first statewide definition of job quality.

Earlier this month, NGA released a new issue brief featuring case studies from each of the NGA WIN participants. The issue brief spotlights ways that Governors and state workforce system leaders are reconnecting workers to the labor force and to sustainable, high-quality employment through new models of service delivery that have emerged amid the disruptions of COVID-19.

To learn more about Colorado’s work with NGA WIN, you can read its entry in the State Innovation Case Studies beginning on page 5 of the issue brief. Thank you to all of our partners who engaged with NGA WIN to enhance our collaborative work and design strategies to more rapidly connect individuals to employment.
