April 27, 2023 - The CWDC is joining the Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC), Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI), and other partners across Colorado in recognizing Economic Development Week on May 8-12. Throughout the week the CWDC will be celebrating Colorado’s talent development ecosystem and the diverse ways workforce development and economic development work together to strengthen our economy.

We also encourage our partners across the state to celebrate Economic Development Week by attending EDCC’s Regional Economic Development Forum on May 10 in Fort Morgan. The event will feature an amazing lineup of speakers addressing economic development issues for Colorado and the eastern plains. Register for the Regional Economic Development Forum.
EDCC’s Regional Economic Development Forum aims to provide the knowledge, tools, and connections vital in supporting economic activities that foster regional economic competitiveness. By using examples from the host region, attendees of the one-day forum will learn about new tools and resources they can apply in their communities.
During the forum, the CWDC will be participating in a discussion about the energy industry in the session “Harnessing the Green Energy Movement.” CWDC Energy and Industry Consultant Susan Blansett will join experts from the Morgan County Economic Development Council, Xcel Energy, and Northeastern Junior College in a conversation about building out the clean energy industry cluster and the opportunity it brings for innovation, investment, and quality jobs for communities on the eastern plains and beyond.
